Ernabella
Ernabella is an Aboriginal settlement in South Australia, located 440 kilometres south west of Alice Springs in the Central Desert. It was established as a missionary station by the Presbyterian Church in 1880.
Since the 1970s, Ernabella has become known for the production of beautiful, hand-crafted, silk batik fabric, made by the Pitjantjatjara women of the community. Ernabella textiles are held in the collections of museums and galleries and valued by private collectors throughout the world.
