Boliny Wanambi is the daughter of artist Mithili (deceased), a Marrakulu leader
Boliny’s father was the late Marrakulu leader and artist Mithili. She spent her chilhood at the Marrakulu homeland Barraratjpi, at Cape Shield on Blue Mud Bay. The new homeland of Gurka’wuy was established in the early 1970s by her father and artist Dundiwuy. Boliny is the widow of Birrikitji, a Dhalwangu clan leader.
Boliny has exhibited since the 1990s and her artwork is represented in national collections. She lives and works in Yirrkala and Yilpara, Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
